Our lives are more and more inseparable from electricity, and diesel generator sets are more and more widely used in life. Different applications, different requirements, will be designed to match the use of different grounding resistance cabinets.
There are two designs of the ground resistance cabinet of the existing high voltage diesel generator set scheme：
1. Configure a ground resistance cabinet for each generator set. The grounding resistance cabinet consists of a high-voltage contactor or circuit breaker, a grounding resistance, and a grounding protection relay module. If the system is parallel, it is necessary to install a PLC control module, which is used to control the circuit breaker of each ground resistance to close or disconnect at the correct time. Because in multiple high-pressure parallel systems, only one high-pressure diesel generator set is allowed to be grounded.
Advantages and disadvantages: Each high voltage diesel generator set is equipped with a ground resistance cabinet, which is flexible and convenient in the renovation project: it can be applied to the single operation of each diesel generator set, and it is suitable for the parallel operation of multiple diesel generator sets.
It is also convenient when adding units. The disadvantages are: because each diesel generator set has a ground resistance, ground fault relay and CT, it occupies a large area and the investment cost is high. If two or more ground resistors are grounded at the same time, the grounding protection module is prone to misoperation.
Multiple diesel generator sets share a ground resistance, and the ground resistance connection is controlled by multiple high voltage contactors. The whole system is equipped with a grounding resistance cabinet. The grounding resistance cabinet consists of a grounding resistor, multiple high voltage contactors and a grounding protection module.
Advantages and disadvantages: Multiple diesel generator sets share a common ground resistance, reducing the investment in ground resistance, while also reducing the footprint. However, in the renovation project, if the diesel generator set needs to be operated separately, it is necessary to add a ground resistance cabinet.
Diesel generator grounding resistance cabinet ordering instructions:
1. Power, voltage and quantity of diesel unit;
2. the material, color, size and inlet and outlet of the cabinet;
3. resistance value, flow time and flow current;
4. Ratio of current transformer;
5. whether to install resistance cabinet intelligent monitoring device;
6. whether to install vacuum contactor;
7. if the number of units is greater than 1, whether to install a PLC controller, to achieve multi-channel interlock.
