This sound is produced by the impact between the valve and the rocker arm, the main reason is that the valve clearance is too large. Valve clearance is one of the main technical indexes of diesel engine. The valve clearance is too large or too small, the diesel engine can not work properly. The valve gap is too large, resulting in the displacement between the rocker arm and the valve is too large, and the impact force generated by the contact is also large, so the metal knocking sound of “bar da, bar da” is often heard after the engine works for a long time, so the valve gap should be re-adjusted every time the engine works for about 300h.
When the diesel engine of the diesel generator set suddenly drops to a low speed from high-speed operation, the impact sound of “when, when, when” can be obviously heard in the upper part of the cylinder. This is one of the common problems of the diesel engine, the reason is mainly that the gap between the piston pin and the connecting rod bushing is too large, and the sudden change of the machine speed produces a lateral dynamic imbalance, resulting in the piston pin rotating in the connecting rod bushing at the same time swinging to the left and right, so that the piston pin impacts the connecting rod bushing and makes a sound. In order to avoid greater failure, causing unnecessary waste and economic losses, the piston pin and connecting rod bushing should be replaced in time to ensure that the diesel engine can work normally and effectively.
