Electronic governor in the structure and control principle is very different from the mechanical governor, it is the speed and (or) load changes in the form of electronic signals transmitted to the control unit, and the set voltage (current) signal is compared with the output of an electronic signal to the actuator, the actuator action pull the oil supply rack to refuel or reduce oil, To achieve the purpose of quickly adjusting the engine speed. The electronic governor replaces the rotating flyweight and other structures in the mechanical governor with electrical signal control, without the use of mechanical mechanism, the action is sensitive, the response speed is fast, and the dynamic and static parameters are high precision; Electronic governor no governor drive mechanism, small size, easy to install, easy to achieve automatic control.

There are two common electronic governors: single pulse electronic governor and double pulse electronic governor. The monopulse electronic governor uses the speed pulse signal to adjust the fuel supply. Double pulse electronic governor is the speed and load of the two monopulse signal superimposed to adjust the fuel supply. The double pulse electronic governor can adjust the fuel supply before the load changes and the speed has not changed, and its adjustment accuracy is higher than that of the single pulse electronic governor, and it can ensure the stability of the power supply frequency.

The basic composition of the double pulse electronic governor is shown in the figure. It is mainly composed of actuator, speed sensor, load sensor and speed control unit. Magnetoelectric speed sensor is used to monitor the change of diesel engine speed and produce AC voltage output proportionally. The load sensor is used to detect the change of diesel engine load and convert it into DC voltage output proportionally. The speed control unit is the core of the electronic governor, which accepts the output voltage signal from the speed sensor and the load sensor, converts it into a proportional DC voltage and compares it with the speed setting voltage, and sends the difference after comparison to the actuator as a control signal. According to the control signal of the actuator, the oil control mechanism of the diesel engine is pulled electronically (hydraulic, pneumatic) to refuel or reduce oil.

If the diesel engine load suddenly increases, the output voltage of the load sensor first changes, and then the output voltage of the speed sensor also changes accordingly (the values all decrease). The above two reduced pulse signals are compared with the set speed voltage in the speed control unit (the negative signal value of the sensor is less than the positive signal value of the set speed voltage), and the positive voltage signal is output, and the output axial refueling direction is rotated in the actuator to increase the cycle fuel supply of the diesel engine.

On the contrary, if the load of the diesel engine suddenly decreases, the output voltage of the load sensor first changes, and then the output voltage of the speed sensor also changes accordingly (the values are increased). The above two elevated pulse signals are compared with the set speed voltage in the speed control unit. At this time, the negative signal value of the sensor is greater than the positive signal value of the set speed voltage. The negative voltage signal of the speed control unit is output, and the output axial oil reduction direction is rotated in the actuator to reduce the cycle oil supply of the diesel engine.
